Today is the day, you've all been waiting for. The day we finally updated our blog. I know we have thousands and thousands that just can't wait to read about our exciting life.
In all seriousness, we have been quite busy. Gavin is growing like a weed. It's incredible thinking that he's already 15-months old. He has become a more frequent walker/stumbler. He has become quite the bully though. In fact, I just got called away from the computer to go save mommy from Gavin's super hair grip and he is kind of a "biter." People keep telling me this is somewhat normal, but mommy and I are ready for the biting, slapping, and grabbing stage to pass.
We've had some great family gatherings as of recently. On August 19th, the Literal side of the family had a cookout at my parents house. It was a great to see some old family, some of which I hadn't really seen or been around since I was in my teens (which was a long time ago). The next day, we had another family cookout at my parents, but this time it was with the Moos side of the family. We had a great turnout and once again got to visit with some family that we haven't been able to see in a long time. Hopefully we can make these family gatherings occur more often, rather than every 10 years or so like it has been in the past.
Labor Day has just passed by and we had a very exciting and busy Labor Day weekend with Chrissy's family. On Saturday, we had a cookout with the Walker side of the family. It's not often that the Walker's get together to spend time with each other. It was really good to see so many people that we do not get to see very often. On Sunday, we had another get together with the Kuhns side of the family. Chrissy's cousin Matt was in from Atlanta. He usually is only home for Christmas, so this was a nice surprise in September.
School has started, and we are off and running with that. In fact, instead of writing this blog post, I probably should be grading some assignments. I'm teaching technology and focusing even more on computer applications this year. Eastern Hancock has really took an inititive to be a more technological school than most, including giving every high school student a netbook laptop to use at school and to take home. You can read the future that they days of textbooks are slowly moving into the past along with 8-tracks, VHS tapes, and cassette tapes. EH seems to be at the forefront of those exciting changes and with myself being a technology teacher, that is very exciting for me. Basketball season is just around the corner and that always is the beginning of a fun, but busy time of year. Chrissy is working hard at Delta and working with keeping everything organized with Gavin. In fact, she is in the middle of giving Gavin a bath as I type this.
Well, hopefully someone reads this, but this is what is going on with the Paxtons now days. Probably by the time I get around to typing the next blog, Gavin will probably be graduating high school. Ok, lets hope not. Lastly, as we approach September 11, 2011, take a moment to remember those lost almost 10 years ago and the sacrifices that the men and women of our military have made.
